The IMET project is an AMSCI funded UK project between Goodwin Steel Castings Ltd, Loughborough University and TWI that will help boost the manufacturing capability and aid exports of nickel alloy turbine components. IMET will advance the melting capability, develop welding solutions and provide technical training for staff. Goodwin have plans to invest in a new 30 Tonne VAOD furnace and a bespoke 30 Tonne solution anneal heat treatment facility enabling the foundry to produce some of the highest quality casting available worldwide.
