    Power Generation
"Goodwin support the demand for steam turbines globally by producing technically advanced castings for advanced ultra super critical duty operation - The foundry offers high integrity castings to tight tolerances to ensure our customers achieve the very best operating efficiency"

    Power Generation

The wealth of our metallurgical knowledge embedded in our devoted team has seen Goodwin Steel Castings invited to
participate in multiple research and development programmes within the power sector. We have developed a specialist
capability of manufacturing large section cast materials with creep resistance at higher temperatures.

By continued investment in material and process development, we have developed cast materials, which make
significant contributions to emission reduction. In having materials that can continuously operate at higher
temperatures, this allows the turbines to operate at higher temperatures and thus more efficiently, resulting in
    lower CO2 emissions.

The most reliable advanced turbine efficiencies are achieved in the sector with the uptake of Goodwin
Steel Castings’ G130 gamma prime strengthened nickel alloy for advanced ultra-supercritical operation
at 700°C. Where nickel alloy is deemed cost prohibitive, our 9.5%Cr MARBN steels have been
developed with exceptional creep rupture strength and hot corrosion resistance when operating
    at 630°C.

Goodwin Steel Castings support Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) with
mechanical and metallurgical material data at the onset of turbine development and can
provide a complete manufacturing solution, inclusive of casting manufacture, nondestructive testing, fabrication / overlay welding, final machining and pressure testing
