Goodwin Steel Castings offers a build-to-print manufacturing service, in which Design for Manufacture (DFM) is offered to optimise the total cost of acquisition. Due to the tight integration with our sister machine shop, our customers benefit from a single point of accountability for finished machined castings that they ultimately require. The state of
the art machining facility has the capability to deliver the most complex and demanding machining on castings and assemblies up to 100T.
Goodwin International is located only seven miles away from our facility. With tight integration, projects are delivered as if we were a single entity from a customer’s perspective. The machine shop is equipped with the latest CNC machine tools and laser scanning equipment, allowing them to carry out precision machining operations
on large castings and assemblies productively and efficiently.
With an unparalleled range of modern vertical turning centres, horizontal milling and lathes, the versatility of their capabilities is world renowned. Their workforce operates 24/7, ensuring demanding project deadlines are achieved.
As engineers know, anything is only as accurate as it can be measured. Therefore, to complement their machining activities, inspection is carried out using multiple, large Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs). Laser scanning and laser tracker-ball systems are also employed, ensuring all machined dimensions are reported accurately.
In addition to our extensive machining and inspection capabilities, Goodwin International adds further value to our customers’ requirements by providing expert support in welding and fabrication, managed by our European and Internationally certified welding engineer. They also perform assembly activities, pressure testing and painting services, which are supervised by their NACE Level III coating inspector.
