Goodwin Steel Castings manufacture large carbon steel castings in a wide range of specifications in weights from 250 to 15,000kg and assemblies up to 100,000kg. Goodwin supply proof machined castings and finish machined castings in carbon steel.
1,500kg, low magnetic permeability carbon steel rotor cores for UK based renewable energy project.
10,500kg, ASTM A352 LCC finish machined globe valve for low temperature applications.
11,700kg, ASTM A216 WCB, proof machined control valve.
Carbon steels are those with no deliberate alloy additions. Usually readily weldable, having a low carbon equivalent and are most frequently used for general engineering, constructional use and pressure applications such as valves and pumps.
Low temperature impact properties are improved by the addition of 1.0 to 1.5% manganese and these steels are often Charpy impact tested between minus 20 and 50°C.
